Thank You for Your Support! Important Walkathon Details Inside

Dear MRCS Families,

We are absolutely thrilled with the amount of support our students are seeing with their Fundraising efforts. Seeing how God is moving through your generosity has been a true blessing. These funds are building a lasting legacy at MRCS and supporting our local community through the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation. Thank you for your heart for our school and our neighbours!

Below is some information about the Walkathon Day on May 29.

Friday, May 29: The Big Day

All students attending school on Friday are expected to participate in the walk. If you prefer your child not to participate, please keep them home for the day and report the absence to the office, as all staff will be dedicated to the route and we will not have on-site supervision.

The Schedule:

  • 8:25 AM – 10:00 AM: Standard classroom time.
  • 10:00 AM: Pre-Walkathon Pep Rally!
  • 10:15 AM: The Walkathon begins.
  • 10:45-11:30 AM: Snack at Rest at Boundary Park – students will be arriving and departing with their buddies/classes in waves. Kindies head back to school.
  • 11:30 PM – 1:00 PM: Students arrive back at school
  • 1:15 PM – 1:45 PM: Wrap-up assembly (Note: Final totals and prizes will be announced at a later date).
  • 1:45 PM – Students back to classrooms for regular Friday Dismissal

Preparation & Gear

  • Dress Code: Please wear MRCS apparel or school colors (Blue, Black, and White).
  • Weather Ready: Please pray with us for a beautiful day for our students! Please ensure your child has sunscreen applied, a water bottle and a hat ready.
  • Stations: There are 5 stations along the route providing snacks, water, and first aid kits.
  • Washrooms: Facilities are available at each station, including a portable toilet at Boundary Park and an “Emergency Only” washroom on Powell Ave.

A Surprise Ending!

We have a very special “Surprise Ending” waiting for the students at the finish line! Please send your child with a towel and a change of clothes. If a student prefers not to participate in the surprise, a bypass option will be available.

Safety & Volunteers

The safety of our students is our top priority. We have traffic control, walking volunteers, a dedicated “pick-up” driver for students unable to finish the route, and a certified First Aid attendant on-site.

It’s not too late to volunteer! If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the form FOUND HERE.

Thank you for your incredible support. We can’t wait to celebrate with you on Friday!

Blessings,

The MRCS Walkathon Team
