Thank You for a Spectacular Walkathon 2026
Throughout the month of May, our school came together in a beautiful display of unity, generosity, and school spirit.
The MRCS Development Team extends a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this event a resounding success:
- To Our Parents: Thank you for your tireless encouragement, for helping our students gather pledges, and for cheering them on every step of the way. Your partnership is the foundation of our vibrant school community.
- To Our Staff & Teachers: Your dedication made this event both seamless and joyful. Thank you for organizing the logistics, keeping the energy high, and walking alongside our students with such enthusiasm.
- To Our Wider Community & Supporters: We are deeply humbled by your generous donations, sponsorships, and prayers. Your continued belief in our mission empowers us to keep growing and providing an exceptional, faith-based education.
Students in grades 1-12 walked 5 kilometres (kindergarten walked 2 kilometres) to bring awareness to Christian Education and raise funds to complete the third floor of our new building.
A dollar of every $10 raised was donated to the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation Paediatric Unit in Maple Ridge!
Building the Future: Phase 1 Complete!
We are thrilled to share that the funds raised during this Walkathon have successfully funded Phase 1 of 4 of our Third Floor construction. This is a monumental milestone for MRCS, and we could not have reached it without your collective effort and heart!
As we look ahead, there is still more work to be done to bring the remaining three phases of the Third Floor to life. For our major donors who helped make this first phase a reality, we look forward to conducting exclusive tours of the Third Floor as soon as construction allows.

Our Stories
Turning Freezies into Fundraising Success
A massive shout-out to Cianna and Serenity, who spent their weekend selling freezies at Maple Ridge Park. Through their hard work and school pride, they raised an incredible $300 for our cause!
Cianna’s dedication is a perfect example of the community spirit we love to see. She’s even volunteered to put in extra hours outside of school to ensure this year’s event is a success.
Entrepreneurship in Action
At MRCS, we love seeing our students put their creativity and hearts into action! This week, Heidi has been a whirlwind of productivity, launching a multifaceted “summer business” to raise donations. handcrafted beaded bracelets to her specialized role as a “Mommy’s Helper”—spending time entertaining little ones to give local moms a much-needed hand—Heidi is proving that no one is too young to make an impact.
Taking Initiative and Making an Impact
Ophelia took initiative this weekend to get into the heart behind our fundraising efforts. By setting up a table at a community garage sale selling stickers, popsicles, and lemonade, and through additional donations, she raised an incredible $520.
Creativity in Action
Phyllis spent the weekend making and selling friendship bracelets in support of our Walkathon fundraiser. Her thoughtful idea and hard work are a great example of students using their talents and entrepreneurial spirit to contribute to our school community. Every fundraising effort helps create future opportunities for our students and programs.
Recycling for a Reason: Eco-Friendly Fundraiser
When it comes to creative fundraising, Eliana in Grade 6/7B has a brilliant plan in the bag!
Eliana designed a custom flyer using Canva and attached it to blue recycling bags. She then canvassed her neighbourhood, dropping the bags off to friends and neighbours who wanted to participate. After giving them time to fill up, she returned to collect the recyclables—even picking up a few extra bags in the process!
Squeezing Out Success
When life gives you lemons, you make lemonade—and raise money for a great cause!
A big round of applause for Brielle, Olivia, and Tenley, who teamed up to host a neighbourhood lemonade stand. These three superstar fundraisers have been pouring their hearts into supporting Walkathon 2026, serving up refreshing drinks and sweet smiles to their community.
Cookie Crusade
The unstoppable fundraising duo, Serenity and Cianna, are at it again!
Following up on their previous fundraising success, the girls decided to take a different approach to reaching their Walkathon 2026 goals: a neighbourhood cookie sale.
Serenity’s mom sent in this fantastic photo of the pair hitting the pavement, pulling a cart piled high with boxes filled to the brim with delicious cookies. We are sure they had no trouble finding happy customers!
Pulling Weeds for a Cause
A huge shout-out goes to Aaron and Callie , who rolled up their sleeves and spent last weekend doing backyard weed removal for their neighbours. Not only did they help spruce up local gardens, but they also raised valuable funds for our upcoming Walkathon. According to their mom, Mia, both Aaron and Callie were “super happy and proud” of their hard work.
Sweet Treats
Our students are keeping things cool while the fundraising momentum heats up!
A massive round of applause goes out to Leo (Grade 1), Henry (Grade 4), and Warren (Grade 4). This superstar trio teamed up to sell freezies and ice cream sandwiches, bringing smiles to the neighbourhood while bringing in donations for our school.
A Sweet Success for a Great Cause
A huge shout-out to the fantastic trio of Frankie, Maverick, and Isabella! Last week, they set up shop in their neighbourhood to sell freezies and lemonade to their community. Their mom, Marsha, let us know that these three are highly motivated and working hard.
Rocking the Pledges
Brothers Lee and John decided to take their fundraising pitch digital by creating a hilarious and engaging video to send to their family and friends. Their rockstar energy and incredible creativity are the perfect recipe for a successful fundraiser. A huge thank you to Lee and John for bringing so much fun and enthusiasm to this year’s Walkathon!
Thank you for your support in making this year's event a big success!
