MRCS Drama Production, Library Changes, Day at the Ballpark

1. And Then There Were None – MRCS Drama

The show starts tomorrow! Tickets are now on sale for this year’s MRCS Drama production of Agatha Christie’s novel, And Then There Were None. We will once again be hosted by Theatre in the Country in Langley from May 8-11. Head to their website to get your tickets and come support our amazing high school drama students!

2. Kindergarten and Grade 9 Day

This Friday there is NO SCHOOL for current Kindergarten and Grade 9 students only, as we welcome next year’s Kindergarten and Grade 9 students to an orientation day.

3. Library Changes

Please note that Thursday, May 16 is the last day to check out library books this year, as our library will be transitioning into a temporary office space while the main office renovations begin the next phase. All library books should be returned during the last week of May.

4. MRCS Day at the Ballpark

As per the app message on April 4, make plans to buy tickets to the Vancouver Canadians Baseball game on Sunday, June 2 for a fun day out with our school community.

5. MRCS Clothing Store
Reminder that the MRCS Clothing Store is now open 24/7. Once you place an order, we will email you when it is ready for pick up at the office. Size restock coming soon!

6. Hot Lunch

Our next hot lunch is this Thursday, May 9, sponsored by Pacific Star Electric and we will be enjoying food from OPA.

Make sure to get your orders in for the last few dates – there’s only 4 hot lunch days left this school year!

7. Mother’s and Father’s Day Celebrations

While there is much to celebrate in May and June, we know there are days of celebration within both months that may serve as a painful reminder of loss or a different home situation for some. We want to ensure our students (and you) always feel celebrated and respected. While teachers will not be spending dedicated time making specific Mother’s and Father’s Day gifts in their classrooms, they will still be sharing the importance of these people in our lives and the call God puts out for us to honour them. This Wednesday afternoon, during our final Buddies session of the year, we will also be discussing and honouring those who care for us in our cross-graded buddies groups. They will also be creating a variety of crafts to share with a caregiver of their choice and have the opportunity to make more than one if they want to honour many caregivers.

8. New Family Applications

A reminder that we offer thank you gift cards for any referrals that result in a submitted application for new families. We currently have space in grades 1, 2, 11, & 12, as well as very limited space in kindergarten and grade 9. Let’s spread the word and fill these classes for the 2024-25 year. You can direct any interested families to start the process by filling out  this admissions intake form.
