Here is what’s happening at MRCS for the week of November 12.
1. Hot Lunch
This week’s hot lunch is Chicken Burgers on Thursday, November 14.
Please note orders for the following hot lunch on November 21 (Pizza Hut) are due this Thursday, November 14.
Make sure to place orders for fall hot lunches on Munch a Lunch and purchase altogether or week by week.

Should you wish to sponsor, we offer advertisements of your logo and website link. However, if you’re making a personal donation, there will be no advertisement but you will be issued a tax receipt.

2. Effective Giving Seminar Cancelled for November 12
The Effective GIving Seminar hosted by the Christian School Foundation (CSF) that was scheduled for this evening has been cancelled. CSF hopes to host another event in our area in the spring.
In the meantime, CSF is offering an online session on November 19 at 11:00 AM. Join this no-cost webinar and access information that is helpful, timely and valuable.

3. Junior Girls Volleyball
The Junior Girls Volleyball team remain undefeated and will be competing in the Fraser North Championships from November 13-15. Games will begin at 5:00 PM at Garibaldi and SRT high schools.
Here’s the schedule for Day 1 if you would like to attend:
Wednesday, November 13 – at Garibaldi High School.
Game 1: 5:00 PM against St. Thomas Moore
Game 2: 6:15 PM against Garibaldi
Game 3: 7:30 PM against Terry Fox Secondary
The results from the first day will determine the times for Day 2, so please keep an eye out on our Hornets Instagram (@mrcshornetsathletics) for more information.
This is special as the Junior girls volleyball team just won GVISSA Gold on November 4, the 2nd time in school history and the first time in 12 years!
Congratulations to our junior girls volleyball team. Come support our Hornets this week.
4. Christmas Market
The bin has been placed in the foyer and is ready for any donations! Please bring any new and like new items that you no longer need around the house.
Students will be able to purchase these items during our Christmas Market on Thursday, December 5 in the gym! All items will be priced at $2 and will be gift wrapped by our events team.
Any remaining items will be donated after the event. All funds raised will go to Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadows Christmas Hamper society to continue the theme of giving.

5. Surviving the Holidays
On December 1 at 2:00 PM, Cornerstone Neighbourhood Church will be hosting a session on managing grief during the Christmas season. Facing grief during this season can sometimes feel like one step forward, two steps back.
This will be a 2 hour event which will help prepare you for this season’s changes.
