Weekly Updates – Monday, March 10 – Move In Volunteers, New Applications, Community Survey, Esperanza Food Donations

Dear Families,

1. Volunteers – Spring Break, Moving In

This is our final week before Spring Break, and the last break before our students move into the new building. As a reminder, Spring Break is from March 15-April 2, with a full day of school returning on April 3.

As we prepare to enter a new completed phase of our school expansion project, MRCS is looking for volunteers to help us move into the new building over Spring Break.

The dates are: March 17-21, 24-28, and March 31. If you are interested and available, please fill out the volunteer form.

Note: All volunteers should be over the age of 16 and be physically able to lift 50+ pounds. MRCS will be contacting volunteers to verify their ability.

2. Applications still Open for the 2025/2026 School Year

MRCS is still accepting applications from Kindergarten to Grade 12 for the 2025/2026 school year. We are especially looking to double-track Kindergarten to Grade 8, and we appreciate your support in helping us to spread the word to your communities!

Here’s the admissions page for your convenience. https://mrcs.ca/admissions/

We will also be hosting an Open House event on Monday, April 14 at 9:00AM and 6:30PM for prospective families.

3. Community Survey

Community surveys are back! We would greatly appreciate your feedback on how we can improve and strengthen our school community so all students can flourish.

Your voice matters. Please take a moment to complete our 3-minute survey. Please fill out this survey by Friday, March 14. Thank you for your time and input!

4. Food Donations for Esperanza Ministries Trip

For a week over Spring Break, a group of our high school students will be serving at Esperanza Ministries in a remote area of Vancouver Island. The parent kitchen team will be buying and preparing food to fuel these growing bodies.

We are requesting support for the trip in these ways:

  • donations for some of the non-perishable food items
  • food coolers that can be borrowed for the week
  • cash donations to purchase food

You can sign up to support the trip using this form.

Please drop off all items at the front office by Tuesday, March 11.

5. Hot Lunch

The next hot lunch will be Dominos this Thursday, March 13. This will be the last hot lunch before Spring Break.

The hot lunch program will return with Wraps on the first day back to school on Thursday, April 3. The deadline to order is Thursday, March 27, 2025.

Please place orders for hot lunches on Munch a Lunch. Purchase altogether or week by week.

For any questions or concerns, please email .

We are still looking for sponsors! If you would like to sponsor a hot lunch, please use Hot Lunch Sponsorship Sign Up to sign up for a specific date.
