Weekly Updates – Monday, June 2 – Walkathon Recap, Grand Opening, HS Showcase, Hot Lunch

Dear Families,

1. Walk-A-Thon + Feedback Form

What an incredible month of May! Thank you for supporting the first MRCS Walkathon event in over 50 years. Thanks to your generosity, we have raised over $60,000 for our third floor initiative and Friends in Need Food Bank! We are constantly blown away by the support of our amazing community. Since we have reached our final milestone goal, all students will be given an ice cream treat on the last day of school (Friday, June 20, 2025). Well earned!

Though the event is over, the Raisely fundraising page will remain open for donations until Sunday, June 8.

It’s not too late to be considered for all prizes! This will be drawn at our upcoming Walkathon celebration event this month.

If you have a moment, the development team would love your feedback on the Walkathon to see how we could improve should we continue next year.

 2. Grand Opening – Building Expansion

It’s the month of our Grand Opening! We are so excited to invite you and your family to the opening of our building expansion on Saturday, June 14. This will be a community wide event, and a chance to celebrate what God has done for our school community. Registration has closed as this is a catered event. However, if you were unable to register and would still like to attend, please contact Clarissa Yap at .

3. Book Returns – Library

As we near the end of the school year, book returns are underway. For elementary students, please return your books during your scheduled library period this week.

High school students may keep their textbooks and books they are currently using but may return any that are no longer needed.

4. Hot Lunch

The last hot lunch of the school year is Subway on Thursday, June 12, 2025

The deadline to order is this Thursday, June 5, 2025.

Hot lunches can be purchased on Munch a Lunch.

5. High School Student Showcase

Tomorrow, Tuesday, June 3, MRCS will be hosting a High School Student Showcase and Open House between 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

This event is an opportunity for these students to present meaningful evidence of their learning and personal growth through the school year.

This showcase also fulfills the Ministry of Education’s requirements for students to demonstrate and reflect on their learning. Students have thoughtfully selected work to share, and are looking forward to sharing them with you!

For the evening session, students will feature exciting live demonstrations in addition to student presentations:

  • Law 12 Mock Trial
  • Chemistry 12 Experiments
  • Math 10 Vertical Surfaces Problem Solving
  • Pouring Art Demonstrations
  • International Department Calligraphy Demonstration
  • PHE 10 Activity Stations
