Here’s what’s happening at MRCS for the week of February 11.
1. Coffee and Connect
Our next Coffee and Connect event will be on Thursday, February 13 from 8:25-9:00 AM. This will be in the foyer, right after morning drop off.
Come join us for a hot cup of coffee, light snacks, and connect with parents and admin staff. Younger siblings are welcome.
2. Hornets Athletics
This week, our MRCS Hornets have a busy schedule! Our Senior Girls and Boys will be playing in the GVISAA tournament on the following dates. Come out and cheer our Hornets on!
Wednesday, Feb. 12 – Senior Boys Basketball GVISAA Quarter Finals – Westview Secondary at 6:00 PM
Friday, Feb. 14 – Senior Girls Basketball game – John Knox Christian School at 4:00 PM
3. Book Fair – Focus On The Family
On Thursday, February 27, MRCS is grateful to partner with Focus on the Family on their first ever school book fair. Come find an amazing selection of books (including Adventures in Odyssey), family resources, merchandise, and more.
Parents are invited to view the selection in person after school from 3:00-4:00 PM.
Note: while select books will be available in person, you can purchase most books at a special school rate online — link coming soon.
4. Looking for Host Families
We are now in the process of looking for new host families for the 2025-2026 school year. Students come from a variety of countries, and they are placed with a caring, English-speaking, Christian family. Students may stay for a few months up to a year.
If hosting one or more of these students interests you and your family, please email Karen Bowering, International Program and Homestay Program Coordinator at: for more information about the Homestay program.
5. Hot Lunch
The next hot lunch will be Boston Pizza on Thursday, February 20.
The deadline to order is this Thursday, February 13.
Please place orders for hot lunches on Munch a Lunch. Purchase altogether or week by week.

We are still looking for sponsors! If you would like to sponsor a hot lunch, please use Hot Lunch Sponsorship Sign Up to sign up for a specific date. Should you wish to sponsor, we offer advertisements of your logo and website link. However, if you’re making a personal donation, there will be no advertisement but you will be issued a tax receipt.

6. BC Family Day
This is a reminder that this Monday, February 17 is BC Family Day. MRCS will be closed from K-12.

8. Save The Date: Grandfriends!
Our annual Grandfriends event will be in the morning on Friday, February 28. This will be an event to celebrate the families in our community, come together for some tea and snacks, and see how God is working in the lives of our students.
9. Spring Break
As we near the opening of our new building expansion, we are thrilled to announce that we have planned occupancy for the new education wing! In order to give our staff enough time to transition into these new spaces to ensure these areas are ready for learning, please note the dates for the extended Spring Break.
