Weekly Update – Tuesday, Oct. 15 – Early Dismissal (K-5), Earthquake Drill, Coffee & Connect

Dear Families,

Here is what’s happening at MRCS for the week of October 15.

1. Early Dismissal K-5

Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 16 Grades K-5 will have an early dismissal of 2:15 PM due to the district Primary Cross Country run.

We understand that many of these students who are running have siblings in Grades K-5 who may need to be pulled to go with their families and have decided to do an early dismissal for K-5 to support this process.

Note: If you have a child in Grades 6-12 that you would like to take early that day as well, those students will still need to be signed out at the front office as their dismissal times will stay the same.

2. The Great Shakeout

On Thursday, October 17, we will be taking part in the Great Shakeout Earthquake drill. This will teach students to practice “Drop, Cover, and Hold On” during earthquakes, and highlight the importance of earthquake safety.

3.  Hot Lunch

Have you ordered a hot lunch for your child? Orders for next week’s lunch Boston Pizza are due this Thursday, October 17! Don’t miss it.

Make sure to place orders for fall hot lunches on Munch a Lunch and purchase altogether or week by week.

For any questions or concerns, please email .

4. Coffee and Connect

Next Tuesday on October 22, MRCS will be hosting a ‘Coffee and Connect’ where parents can grab a fresh cup of coffee, pause and connect with each other and our principal.

This event will take place right after morning drop off from 8:30-9:30 AM. Stay tuned for the location!

5. Building Project Timeline

As our building expansion project nears completion, we want you to be aware of the timeline.

Please note that Christmas break is two weeks (December 23 – January 3) as per usual and at this time, families should anticipate our return to school on Monday, January 6.

Currently, we do NOT have a firm move-in date, and any days after that may need to be set aside to allow us to move. We recognize that families may need advance notice to make plans and we will communicate that as soon as we are able.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
