1. Terry Fox Run
The Terry Fox Run is this Wednesday, September 27.
The Elementary and Middle School Run will be from 8:45-9:15 AM. The High School Run will be from 9:35-10:00 AM. Students should come dressed and ready for the weather as it is supposed to rain. Parents are welcome. 
Please send a toonie with your child that day to support the work of the Terry Fox Foundation. And thank you to the Hot Lunch team for handing out oranges for our runners!
2. New Parent Orientation
There will be a meeting for parents of new families this Wednesday, September 27 at 7:00 PM in the Library Learning Commons. If you are new here, please make plans to join us that evening!
3. Hot Lunch Orders
Hot Lunch ordering is now open for all the Hot lunch dates until Christmas! You can order for all, some, or just one of the dates — it’s up to you. Hot lunch is always on Thursdays and will close for orders the Saturday night before, so please get your orders in before the deadline as we are not able to re-open ordering for those who forgot.

4. Orange Shirt Day / Truth and Reconciliation
It’s Orange Shirt Day at MRCS on Friday, September 29! Students who would like to participate are encouraged to wear an orange shirt to lament the residential school experience, to witness and honour the healing journey of the survivors and their families, and to support the ongoing process of reconciliation.
Please note: There is no school on Monday, October 2 in honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, which falls on Saturday, September 30 this year. Please see the attached poster for a local event happening in Maple Ridge organized by the Fraser River Indigenous Society.
5. Development Survey
Reminder to all parents to complete the 2023/24 MRCS Parent survey that was sent last week.
All parents who fill out the survey will be entered to win a $25 Save-On Foods gift card. 
6. App Home Screen / Parent Portal
Reminder that the home screen of the MRCS app and website Parent Portal are full of very helpful information – athletics and class schedules, hot lunch ordering, parent survey, chapel livestream link, MRCS business directory, MRCS contact info – which includes a text only number you can use to report absences.
