Take Our Kids to Work TM is an annual national program in which Grade 9 (or equivalent) students are hosted by parents, friends, relatives and volunteers at workplaces across the country every November. The program supports career development by helping students connect school, the world of work, and their own futures. More than 250,00 students and 75,000 organizations take part every year across Canada, from Nunavut to Newfoundland participate in the program.
While we do not mandate that students attend work with a parent or friend for that day, if your work site has a program for your Grade 9 student that day, we do support our students attending work for that day with a trusted adult. Please let the school know by contacting if your Grade 9 child is planning to be away that day for Take Our Kids to Work Day.
