Welcome back everyone! Hopefully you were all able to stay safe and warm during last week’s weather events. We also want to acknowledge and apologize that the app was acting up just when we needed it to be sending important early morning messages to you all. We are looking into it and will make adjustments as needed. You can also check the website or Facebook and Instagram to find school closure announcements.
1. No School for High School only
This Friday, January 26 there is no school for the high school (grade 9-12) students only, as we transition between semesters. Prayers and clarity of thought for our high school students and teachers as they finish out the semester, after missing 3 important days last week.
2. Mascot Naming Contest
The deadline for submitting your mascot name suggestions has been extended until the end of school on Tuesday, January 23. Submit your entry in the box at the front office or email , as there will be a prize for the winning submission!
3. Driving Reminder
Please be courteous during drop off and pick up, ensuring you are not blocking our neighbours’ driveways. Also, if picking up only high school students please remember to come after 3:05 PM to ease overall traffic congestion.
4. New Family Registration
New family registration for grades 1-12 begins on February 1 (kindergarten registration started in November). We currently have space in grades K, 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 9, 11, & 12, so spread the word and let’s fill these classes for the 2024/25 year.
5. Grandfriends Day
Grandfriends Day is coming up on Friday, February 23. There will be refreshments, chapel featuring grades K-7, followed by classroom visits for grades K-5 only, as the middle and high school class schedules are different and will be too difficult to coordinate grandparent visits. Look for invitations coming home with your student, as well as our Facebook event page you can share with your loved ones.
6. Hot Lunch
The first hot lunch of the year was postponed from last week to this Thursday, January 25 and we will be enjoying Boston Pizza.Thanks to the Chum / Lim family for sponsoring, in honour of their teachers and coaches here at MRCS!
