We are grateful to announce and warmly welcome two new staff members who will be joining our team this month. Miss Camilia Rodriguez and Mrs. Anna Ju will be taking over the French 6-9 HS Physical and Health Education roles for the remainder of this school year as Mrs. Silva has extended her leave through the remainder of the school year.
Beginning Friday, January 24, 2025, these talented individuals will take on their respective positions:
- French 6–9 Teacher: Miss Camilia Rodriguez
- Miss Rodriguez is a graduate of SFU with a major in French. She also holds her DELF B2 Certification, which shows her proficiency in French and allows her to teach French at this level. Miss Rodriguez is fluent in both French and Spanish, and is passionate about working with youth.
- High School Physical and Health Education Teacher: Mrs. Anna Ju
- Mrs. Ju holds her BC teaching certification and comes highly qualified to teach PHE. She is known and commended for her desire to see all students flourish. She won an award for a mind-mapping tool she developed during her practicum that her professors continued to use after her graduation. Mrs. Ju is passionate about building relationships with her students to gain trust and looks forward to praying with and for them.
Between January 13 and January 23, 2025 both teachers will be adapting to their roles, working closely with Mrs. Zandbergen to make the transition as smooth as possible. They will both fully take over their respective course loads on Friday, January 24, 2025 through to June 2025.
We are deeply grateful for the Lord’s provision in bringing these individuals to our school and would also like to express our heartfelt thanks to Mrs. Tracy Zandbergen who has filled this gap with such care and dedication during the interim period. She cares deeply for the students, which was evident in the lessons she planned and her communication with them. Mrs. Zandbergen will continue her Grade 8 Bible teaching position.
