Dear MRCS Families,
On Friday, May 29, our students will lace up their shoes for a 5km walk through our neighborhood—a day of fitness, fellowship, and faith in action!
his year, we have set a heart-led goal of $65,000. These funds are vital to help us finish our building expansion, providing essential space for generations of students to come. In the spirit of loving our neighbours, we are also honoured to donate 10% of all proceeds to the Ridge Meadows Hospital Foundation. The Route & Safety
The main 2026 Walkathon route is 5 km, while our Kindergarteners will enjoy a shorter 2 km walk. We’ve partnered with local churches and businesses to provide stations and facilities along the way, ensuring a safe and supported journey. We’ll cap off the day with a wrap-up assembly at the school—you are more than welcome to attend!
On the day of the Walkathon, we are asking that all students and volunteers wear their MRCS apparel and wear blue. During the month of May, we will be offering a discount on the MRCS Merch Store to make sure everyone is able to show MRCS Spirit!
How You Can Support Your Child
The success of the Walkathon truly depends on the heart and hands of our parent community. We would love for you to join us through prayer, donation, or by giving your time. We are currently looking for parents (and grandparents!) to volunteer along the route. If you would like to volunteer, please fill out the form linked here.
Fundraising
For the month of May, we are using the Raisely platform to be able to receive online donations. It’s a simple way to share your child’s page with friends, family, and coworkers. Creating a profile for your child does require approval, so please fill out the permission form in the App or fill out the form linked here so we can create your child’s fundraising page.
Note: You can use one parent email for multiple children; you’ll just have a “main” name for the account while maintaining individual pages for each child.
Encouraging Our Students
We are inviting each student to play a part by aiming for a $150 fundraising goal. To honor their dedication, every student who reaches this milestone will receive a special prize.
We also want to recognize the many ways our students give back:
- Special Recognition: Awards for the top fundraisers, those who connect with the most donors, and those who get creative with their efforts (like car washes or lawn mowing!).
- Classroom Community: Classes will work together toward a group prize for the highest collective total.
- Celebrating Together: Through our “Milestone Motivators,” the entire school will unlock fun rewards as we get closer to our $65,000 goal.
