Christmas Market – Thursday, December 11 (K to Gr. 8)
On Thursday, December 11, we will be hosting our Christmas Market for students in Kindergarten to Grade 8. This special event gives students the opportunity to purchase gifts for their families while learning about sustainable gifting and generosity.
Donations:
We are still accepting new or like-new items until December 10. We do not need any more gift wrap – thank you for your generosity in this area.
How the Market Works:
- The elementary gym will be transformed into a Christmas “store.”
- Classes will shop for gifts for family members, caregivers, etc.
- All items will be $2 each. → Please send exact change as we will not have change available.
- All proceeds and unsold items will support the Maple Ridge Pitt Meadows Christmas Hamper Society.
Shopping Limits & Labels:
- Students may purchase a limited number of gifts to ensure fairness.
- Each child will be sent home with labels to pre-fill to help streamline the checkout process.
- Gifts will be labelled, wrapped, and returned to classrooms for students to take home at the end of the day.
- Please send your child with a bag to carry their items.
Opting Out:
If you do not wish for your child to participate, please email your child’s teacher before December 11.
Volunteers Needed:
We are still looking for volunteers for the following dates:
Christmas Concert Help:
- Dec 12 – 6:30 PM
- Dec 18 – 1:30 PM & 6:30 PM
Baking Needed for both concert days.
Last week, our Middle School students enjoyed their exploratory activity at Momentum Movement Academy, and we also honoured our graduating class at the annual Grad Christmas Breakfast – a cherished MRCS tradition that has been part of our community for nearly 20 years. This meaningful morning gives our grads space to slow down, connect, and reflect together. They were encouraged through a story shared by Mr. Flokstra, a devotional led by Mr. Ketchum, and the time-honoured tradition of reading heartfelt letters written by their parents.
