Class of 2025

Celebrating our Grade 12 Graduates

Abigail

My best memories at MRCS involve Esperanza and sports. In the fall, I’m going to Dalhousie University to take their Bachelor of Arts program.

Amy

One of my favourite memories from MRCS was helping organize the school dance as part of Student Council. Seeing everyone come together, laughing and dancing, made me realize how special our school community really is. It wasn’t just about the event itself, but about creating a space where everyone felt included and connected. That moment reminded me how small actions like setting up decorations or running a bake sale can make a big impact.

After graduation, I plan to attend the University of British Columbia to study Psychology. I’m especially interested in Neuropsychology and hope to research how education can better support kids with autism. Eventually, I want to work in inclusive education or advocacy. I might also travel during the summer to gain new perspectives before starting university.

Annemie

An experience I thoroughly enjoyed at MRCS was the Holocaust Interactive Presentation. Together with my friends, we created a room which showcased what it was like to be a Jew hiding during the Holocaust, and how a lovely German family protected and hid Jews in their home. There was a lot of detail, effort and compassion that went into making the presentation as authentic as we could. We borrowed antiques from our own families to create a room which fully transported students to 1940s Europe. It was very rewarding to see the reactions of the students who visited our room and the realization of how traumatic it must have been to live through the Holocaust.

During the summer I will go on a grad trip with my family to bucket-list destinations and events in Alberta. At the end of this year I will move abroad and travel through Europe. In 2027, I will start university in South Africa to study Agricultural Economics.

Brynn

My time at MRCS has created so many amazing memories, but my favorite memories have by far been Esperanza 2025, and physics class with Mr. Mba. Esperanza 2025 was full of so many good memories. Some of my favorite moments from Esperanza were the pool tournaments, chopping wood, cooking with Vera and the office ladies, babysitting Ryla with Hayley, and late night talks with Kayla, Vera, and Hayley, to name a few. Physics 12 with Mr. Mba was such a fun class. Not only did I learn so much, but it helped solidify my decision to go into physics and astrophysics. The small class really helped with the learning environment, and after two years of trying, Kayla finally convinced a teacher to take our class to Science World!

After I graduate, I’m taking a gap year to work and hopefully travel before I start up school again. In 2026, I want to start my undergraduate degree in astrophysics or physics.

Cassidy

One of the highlights of my time at MRCS has been the away trips we’ve had over the years for sports. I’ve been very grateful to have had the opportunity to play on the volleyball and basketball teams with my friends. We’ve had many fun trips over the years such as our Salt Spring basketball tournament, various Nanaimo trips, and our Provincials trip to Prince George. I’ve made so many memories on these trips and they’ve been a crucial part of my MRCS experience.

After graduation, I’m looking at attending the University of the Fraser Valley (UFV) for General Studies. My plan is to transfer to a more specialized program once I have a better idea of what I want to focus on. I plan to take science-related courses, as that’s what I’ve always been interested in. While I’m in university I will continue to work, hopefully at a restaurant or cafe. One of the things I’m excited about for university is the possibility of travelling, perhaps doing a study-abroad program while in university. I’m not completely sure of the exact path I’m taking yet, but I’m excited to explore different options and figure it out as I go. I’m currently leaning toward a career in health sciences or a related field because I’m very detail-oriented. I’ve always found myself more interested in jobs that require a scientific approach and precision.

Connor

I will always remember that in 2024 our basketball team went to provincials which was an amazing experience. Being able to go to Esperanza that spring break was also fun. After graduation, I plan on finishing my pilot’s license and working with my dad.

Elijah

Ellie

One highlight from my time at MRCS is going to Boston Pizza until 2:00 AM after the Anastasia drama show. After graduation, I am going to Summit Pacific College for a year to grow in my faith and serve others and to take time to fully figure out my post-secondary goals. I am taking their OMEGA program and will be going on a missions trip to Japan at the end of the year.

Emily

Most of my memories have been things that have been organized ‘by the students, for the students’, like Senior Splash, a water fight that has lasted 5 weeks at this point (and not just at the school), and the Yearbook Commitee. The grad trip was also super fun, and we spent lots of time hanging out with friends. MRCS still has its ups and downs despite being a Christ-centered community, but it also has teachers focused on not just our educational growth but also our spiritual growth, and it provides a welcoming community where every student thrives.

After graduation, I plan on helping out at TriCity Church’s day camp, as well as spending time travelling during the summer. In the fall, I plan to head to UFV, majoring in Media Arts.

Ethan

One of my best memories from MRCS is Esperanza. We had a great conversation with each other at the camp fire. It was calming and cozy. My future plan is to go to UBC for the Bachelor of International Economics program.

Evelyn

During my time at MRCS, I have had the chance to be a TA for Mrs Fouad in Grade 1. She is so incredibly patient and kind with the kids, and has been an amazing mentor. Another highlight of high school was in French 11, when Mr Lafleur bought us all our own baguettes and brought different types of cheeses to try. By the end of the class, we were stuffed with bread and cheese.

After graduation, I plan to go to Douglas College for their Future Teachers program. I then hope to continue on to Trinity Western to finish my studies so that I can become an elementary school teacher.

Florin

I will always remember Mr. Bruins’ random stories in PE class. After graduation, I am most likely going to pursue an undergraduate degree in Mechatronics Systems Engineering at SFU. I am planning on using my post-secondary education to work in automation.

Hadrian

One of my favourite memories from my time at MRCS is eating at Omni Burger in Fort Langley with the boys. After graduation, I will be going to BCIT for their Computer Systems Technology course, and hopefully be successful in that field.

Joseph

The highlight of my time at MRCS is the basketball season. After graduation, I’m going to go KPU for my Red Seal as an electrician. Throughout that period I will also give back to my community by becoming a coach in Ridge for lacrosse.

Kaitlyn

Kayla

MRCS has provided me with a supportive and encouraging environment, one where I’ve been able to grow my relationship with God. I’ve had a lot of good memories at MRCS, but my top three highlights are definitely Anastasia 2025, Esperanza 2025, and Physics 12 with Mr. Mba.

After graduation, I plan on attending York University, starting the Fall 2025 semester. I hope to get a degree in Biotechnology. But before that, over the summer, I hope to travel a bit and spend time with my family and friends.

Keira

During my time at MRCS, I’ve made countless memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. A few most notable experiences are all of the sports trips I’ve gone on as well as Esperanza and our recent grad trip; having these opportunities to travel, play sports, and spend time in service alongside my friends is something I am incredibly grateful for. These trips have all been such meaningful experiences and have helped deepen and strengthen my friendships as well as create new ones.

After I graduate, I will be spending a minimum of two years at Columbia Bible College where I’ll be playing on their varsity volleyball team and studying psychology. I’m so excited to experience what these next years hold, and to see all the new ways I’ll grow as an athlete and a person. I also hope to continue finding opportunities for work in sports media.

Sunghyun (Kevin)

My highlight memory from MRCS has been going to Esperanza and participating in the drama class. As an international student, these experiences helped me connect with others on a deeper level. Esperanza taught me the joy of serving and being part of a community, while Drama gave me the confidence to express myself and step out of my comfort zone. Both helped me grow not just as a student, but as a person.

After graduation, I plan to attend University College London (UCL) to study International Relations and Politics. My goal is to pursue a career in Diplomatic Politics in South Korea, where I hope to contribute to global cooperation and represent my country on the international stage.

Micaiah

My best memories at MRCS involve the basketball season. In the fall, I’m going to SFU for business and hope to land a good job in the future.

Miwa

One of my favorite memories from high school was going on the Esperanza trip in grade 11 and grade 12. It was such a meaningful experience because I got to learn so much outside of the classroom by serving others. Through this trip, I was able to create deep and lasting friendships with the people I went with, sharing moments of joy, hard work, and reflection together. This experience not only taught me the importance of community and service but also gave me memories and connections that I will always treasure and remember

After graduating, I’m planning to attend Douglas College for a year to complete my nursing prerequisites. This will provide me with a strong foundation before I transfer to a nursing school. I’m really excited about this path because nursing–more specifically aesthetic nursing–has always been a career that interests me. I look forward to gaining the knowledge and skills necessary to care for others and eventually specialize in a field I’m passionate about.

Sharon

A highlight during my time at MRCS has to be all the away trips I have been given the chance to go on. I have made so many memories and experienced so many things thanks to this opportunity. I will always be grateful for all the people that surrounded me during my time at MRCS. From going to Prince George for volleyball Provincials to Esperanza for a service trip, I have learned and grown so much during my time here.

After graduation I plan to study Nursing at the University of Alberta.

Talia

One of my most favourite memories from my years at MRCS is Esperanza 2024 when we put frogs in the guys’ room. After graduation, I’m taking a gap year to travel and upgrade courses, then go to Douglas College to get my undergrad, then take a 2-year course in Sonography to become an Ultrasound Tech.

Tristen

I have great memories playing sports such as ultimate frisbee or basketball during my years at MRCS. After graduation, I want to go to VCAD and study Graphic Design such as building websites and stuff. I would also love to travel across Europe.

Vera

My best memories from my time at MRCS come from all of the Esperanza trips I’ve gone on. It was amazing to grow closer to my friends and get to know people I normally wouldn’t hang out with, but most importantly every time I went I saw God at work in my life and in others’ lives. Also, I’ll always remember how much my teachers at MRCS genuinely cared about us—whether it was bringing us coffee in a morning science class, leading devotions, praying for us, or just being gracious and patient with us in general.

Next year, I’m going to SFU, where I’ll be pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry & Molecular Biology. I picked Biochemistry because I find God’s creation fascinating and I want to understand it more. Most of all, I want to do something that will benefit and serve others—whether that’s by being a researcher or possibly by becoming a lawyer.

Yuri

When I first came to MRCS from Korea, I wasn’t a Christian. Faith was something distant and unfamiliar to me. But through this school — through the gentle love of the teachers, the warmth of the community, the quiet moments in Chapel, and the stories shared in Bible class, I came to meet God for the first time. Not just as an idea, but as someone real and present in my life. This school led me to Him, and for that, I will always be thankful. Over time, MRCS became more than just a place of learning. It became a place of transformation. I found not only knowledge, but faith. Not only classmates, but long life friends. Even though I was far from my family, I felt their warmth through the kindness and care of the people around me. Every moment from everyday conversations to unforgettable performances has become part of who I am. It’s a journey I once thought was too big for me, but now I walk it with faith, because I know I’m not alone. MRCS will always be part of my story. It gave me a new path, new people, and a new heart. Thank you for showing me love, truth, and the beauty of walking with God.

After graduation, I plan to study Veterinary Medicine at the Royal Veterinary College in the UK and after that, I will continue with graduate  studies, specializing in ophthalmology at Oxford.
