4. School Photos
On Wednesday/Thursday last week, students were given photo order proofs to take home after picture day.
If you wish to purchase individual photos, Orders are due to LIFETOUCH by this Friday, October 4.
Class photos are now included for every student. They will arrive this week and will be handed out for students to take home.
5. Extensive Absences
Since starting the school year, we have had a number of families take extended vacations and/or absences.
Our handbook states that:
Regular attendance is essential for success in school. Excessive absence has the potential to severely inhibit the learning process. It is important for students to be present in the classroom to participate in the discussions, activities and interactions. Illness and serious family crises should be the primary reasons for absenteeism.
Absences due to voluntary family decisions (i.e., holidays) create undue stress to the student, staff, and overall learning environment.
Please note the following:
- A voluntary absence requires parents to take responsibility for the student’s missing work.
- Staff are under no obligation to provide the school assignments ahead of time.
- An absentee folder with some work may be available upon the student’s return and work may be regularly uploaded into the Google Classroom (if there is one).
- It is NOT the school’s responsibility to assist the child in catching up on missed work.
- The parent will need to provide the necessary assistance in completing missed lessons. This may require tutoring.
- Credit for late assignments/tests are at the teacher’s discretion.
