Dear MRCS Community,
Yesterday, the federal government announced yesterday that Monday, September 19, 2022, will be a national day of mourning to commemorate the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
Late yesterday afternoon, the provincial government confirmed that B.C. K-12 schools, public post-secondary institutions, and most Crown corporations will also be closed on this day.
As such, Maple Ridge Christian School will be closed on Monday, September 19. We encourage your family to take time to reflect on the years of service of Queen Elizabeth II, which included a life well lived and frequent reminders for people to look to Jesus as their ultimate guide and hope in this world.
Please note that we will also be closed for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation on Friday, September 30.
