Hobbies or past times: One hobby that I really enjoy is reading. I love sitting down and being whisked away to a different world.
Core Competency I developed in my time at MRCS: Communication: One core competency that I have developed during my time at MRCS is engaging and connecting with others. I’ve had to learn this by doing school projects and by squads events. I’ve had to learn to talk with people and compromise when we don’t agree with something. When I started high school, I was very quiet and I had a hard time expressing my opinion, but over the years I’ve learned to open up more.
Biblical Through-line I developed in my time at MRCS: Image-Reflector: One biblical through-line that I have developed in my time at MRCS is being an image-reflector. I have learned that by living my life for God I am able to be an influence other people’s lives and represent God’s people in a positive way.
How my time at MRCS developed my relationship with God and with others: My time at MRCS has developed my relationship with God by always being a place where I can ask questions. All the teachers are always willing to talk and answer any questions we may have.
A highlight from my time at MRCS: One memory I have from my time at MRCS is during my 5th grade school year when my class and I slept over at the aquarium. This was such a cool experience and it was made even better because it was one of the only trips my dad was able to attend. At one point during the trip, my dad and I decided to ditch our group and we went and saw the penguins that had just been put there. This was a really great trip.
Future plans for after graduation: After grad, I will be attending The London School in Vancouver and taking their hairdressing program. It is a 10 month program that begins in September and ends in June. This program only goes 3 days a week, so I plan on working the other days. Once I have completed that, I plan on taking the summer off to do some traveling and to spend time with my friends and family before beginning to work in the “real” world.
One thing about MRCS that I want others to know: One thing about MRCS that I would like to share is how much of a community it is. This past year has been a hard one for my family and I. The school was always checking in with us and did everything they could to make us feel loved. I would like to give a shout out to the office ladies for always making me laugh. I am really gonna miss my second home, but I’m excited to start this new chapter in my life.
