Annika

Family members: Vicki – Mother, Paul – Father, Ava – Sister, Erica – Oma

Hobbies or past times: Horseback-riding is one of my favourite hobbies. I love to be outside in nature and horses are such beautiful creatures.

Core Competency I developed in my time at MRCS: Social Responsibility: I have been able to learn how to best serve my community by valuing each individual and building relationships with students and teachers

Biblical Through-line I developed in my time at MRCS: Image-Reflector: I have grown up having the MRCS teachers be examples of people of great faith and I have been able to watch how they live it out. In turn, I began my own journey of living out my faith and shining Jesus’s light on others.

How my time at MRCS developed my relationship with God and with others: MRCS has been a place where I can practice and live out my faith in a non judgemental environment. I don’t need to be afraid to talk about God and ask questions. I have also had opportunities to serve the community, which has allowed me to learn how to serve God and love others the way He does.

A highlight from my time at MRCS: Grade 5 was such a fun year and one of the biggest highlights were all the field trips we went on that year. The most exciting one was our sleepover at the Vancouver Aquarium.

Future plans for after graduation: I will be attending Trinity Western University in the Fall of 2020, where I will be pursuing my Bachelor of Education and Arts. Teaching has always been my dream and I am excited to pursue it at such a great university where I look forward to meeting new people and being in a learning environment that fosters my faith.

One thing about MRCS that I want others to know: MRCS is a place of opportunity that encourages students to pursue what they love and serve God while doing it.
