Enrollment Agreement

As part of our shared mission to nurture and educate children within a Christian worldview, this agreement serves to confirm our mutual commitment to the values, recommendations, and educational approach of Maple Ridge Christian School. By signing this agreement, parents/guardians agree to partner with the school in fostering a collaborative and Christ-centered learning environment .

1. Commitment to Christ-Centered Values

We understand and support the school’s mission to provide an education rooted in a Christian worldview. We will:

Uphold and model Christ-centered values in our interactions with staff, students, and the broader school community, fostering respect, empathy, and a spirit of unity and restoration in a diverse world.
Encourage our child to grow in their faith and character, consistent with the teachings of Christ, equipping them to navigate and contribute meaningfully and restoratively to an ever-changing, diverse world.
Pray for and encourage students and staff.

2. Respect for School Professionals

We recognize the expertise, dedication, and authority of the school’s educators, support staff and leadership. We will:

Collaborate with teachers and staff in a posture of curiosity, mutual respect and understanding.
Respectfully work in conjunction and collaborate with the school professionals regarding the recommendations and guidance regarding our child’s academic progress, behaviour, and spiritual growth.
Communicate concerns directly and constructively with the appropriate school personnel adhering to the MRCS communication guidelines.

3. Active Partnership in Education

We acknowledge our vital role in our child’s educational journey. We will:

Actively engage in our child’s education by supporting their learning at home and participating in school events when possible.
Ensure our child’s regular attendance, timeliness, and preparedness for school activities.
Reinforce the school’s disciplinary guidelines, policies, and practices to ensure a consistent message between home and school.

In addition, we recognize that active partnership also includes:

Fulfilling our financial obligation to the school (paying tuition and fees on time).
Support Maple Ridge Christian School through volunteering and fundraising initiatives to strengthen the community and ensure the long-term sustainability of the school.
Attending general meetings and town halls to be informed and to give voice.

4. Support for School Policies

We commit to upholding the policies and procedures outlined in the MRCS Handbook & Policies. We will:

Adhere to school policies and guidelines regarding academics, behaviour and extracurricular participation.
Respect the school’s decisions, student confidentiality and processes in handling disputes or challenges, trusting that they align with best practices in education.

Implications of Breach

A breach of this agreement implies a failure to uphold the commitments outlined above, which may affect the collaborative relationship between the school and the family. In such cases:

1. Initial Dialogue

The school will reach out to the parent(s)/guardian(s) to address the concern in a spirit of understanding and grace.
A meeting will be scheduled to discuss the specific areas of concern, with the aim of restoring alignment with the school’s mission and values.

2. Mutual Restoration Plan

A restoration plan with actionable outcomes will be created to guide steps for restoring commitment to the contract. This may include specific actions, timelines, or additional support from the school.

3. Escalation of Concerns

Continued breaches or an unwillingness to collaborate with the school will lead to a formal review of the family’s enrollment status by the school administration.

4. Possible Enrollment Consequences

In rare cases, where reconciliation and alignment are not possible, the school reserves the right to reevaluate the family’s continued enrollment. This step will only be taken after extensive communication and consideration by school leadership.

Annual Review and Renewal

This contract is reviewed and signed annually as part of the enrollment process. By doing so, we reaffirm our commitment to the shared goals of MRCS and its community.

In making this application, I understand my financial commitment to Maple Ridge Christian School. I pledge to pay the tuition for my child per the schedule below.

Early Student Withdrawal If a student withdraws during the school year, one month’s notice must be given or payment of one month of tuition in lieu of notice. Unpaid Accounts When a student leaves MRCS for any reason, including graduation, all unpaid accounts remain due to Maple Ridge Christian School. Financial Hardship If a financial hardship occurs during the school year, parents must immediately notify the financial office.

As a result of a serious occurrence affecting normal operations of the school, children will not be released from school until an authorized adult comes to retrieve them or unless their parents has signed an Emergency Release Form for Students Aged 16 or Older.

If you child requires daily medication or has a medical condition that requires special attention, please ensure that the school has this information and a 48-hour supply of any essential medication.

If there are any alerts that the school should be aware of pertaining to the release of your child into the custody of a certain individual, please ensure the school office is informed. In the event of an illness or an injury to my child, or a serious occurrence resulting in school closure during the school day such as an earthquake or fire, and I am unable to collect my child from school,

Dear Parents,

The students at MRCS currently use the school-provided email addresses as a communication tool between themselves, parents, and teachers.

Following is the specification of what type of access the students will be give:

The email system that the school uses is Gmail provided by google.com

Each student will have the capability to send and receive emails to and from the public and each other.
The system in place allows students to access these tools at home as well as at school, and therefore we suggest that while students use this tool at home, they use it under your supervision.
The students will also be using the “Google Drive” to create documents, presentations, spreadsheets and as a collaboration tool with their peers.

Please note that the system we have in place is closely monitored while they’re at school, however their access is not monitored while off school property. Teachers do not have a list of students’ passwords; however, the administration does have the capability to change a student’s password as they see fit.

MRCS recommends that students be allowed the use of these services under your supervision, as it allows the teachers and students to communicate both with their peers and the parent community with regards to upcoming schoolwork, collaboration with other students, and distribution of worksheets and notices.

By signing below, you fully understand the privilege and risk inherent with allowing students the responsibility of having their own email address, access to the school’s internet services provided by “Shaw Inc.” and “Google.com,” and also understand that students will be allowed this access for the duration of their enrolment at MRCS. Lastly, by signing, you agree to allow your child this privilege and understand that if your child abuses the services provided, then Maple Ridge Christian School may exercise the right to revoke this privilege from the student.
