The Buzz September 8, 2020

It was great welcoming back so many of our students on site today. While the start of this year looks different, we can look to our Heavenly Father for grace, love, and perseverance for each day of this school year.

This year we are learning to be temple-keepers. In order for us to be healthy and best equipped to be disciples of our God, all five aspects of who we are must be healthy – the physical, emotional, spiritual, mental, and social components. We are called to care for our bodies as temples of the Holy Spirit, mindful that all five aspects are interrelated. It is our goal this year to focus on our social-emotional health, our spiritual health, in addition to our physical health, as acts of worship. Our theme verse from Mark 12:30 says, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.”

I am excited to see how all of our students, from preschool to Grade 12, engage in this biblical throughline as we pursue our vision for innovative Christian education in a mission-minded community where every student thrives.

Signing Out Students During the School Day

If a student needs to leave during the school day, a parent or guardian is still required to sign out the student at the front office. Please remember to wear a mask when entering the school building. If you have any questions, you can contact the school office at 604.465.4442 or

Weather & Water Bottles

We are in the midst of warmer weather, so it’s especially important to send your child to school with a full water bottle to start the day! Given the location of the water filling stations in the school, students will not always be able to access them throughout the school day. It is best to use these stations as a back-up only when their water from home needs to be replenished.

Hot Lunch Refunds

Since last year’s Hot Lunch Program was cut short, we have some outstanding prepayments for hot lunch orders. If you prepaid for hot lunch orders, you can either donate your prepayment to the school or request a refund. Please reach out to Stephanie Carroll at to indicate what option you would like to take. Thank you!

Community Heartbeat

With all of the current changes in place, we thought there might be an extra layer of back-to-school stress this year. To help ease some of those jitters, we posted a “blooper edition” of our back-to-school video yesterday. If you missed out on the fun, you can check it out here:
