Giving December Starts Tomorrow!
Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday, which is the official kick-off to our Giving December year-end extravaganza! Any donation received during the month of December, will be matched up to $25,000. We will also be giving away a bundle of student art cards (pictured below) as a thank-you gift for every Giving December donation.
A matching gift that doubles your donation and shares joy-filled student art? What a beautiful and uplifting way to end 2020 a good note!
The donations received will go a long way toward making our new school building a reality. This building project will open up many more opportunities for our current students and the ones that would like to be at our school. This new building is central to expanding the reach and amplifying the impact of God’s work at Maple Ridge Christian School.

Annual General Meeting Information
Thank you to all of those who attended our Annual General Meeting last week. If you missed it or would like to reference it again, you can find the AGM video recording as well as notes from the evening here: AGM Recap »
Christmas Chapel Video
With the current protocols in place, we cannot perform our annual Christmas Concert this year. Even so, we have been working hard to find a way to share the joy of Christmas with our students and our MRCS community. A special Christmas Chapel video is in the works that will be released for viewing in classrooms and at home on Friday, December 18. We look forward to celebrating Christ’s birth and sharing our celebration beyond the walls of our school!
Required Testing & Reporting
BC Provincial legislation requires independent schools to test for lead content in drinking water every three years, to ensure it meets provincial requirements established by the Ministry of Health (<0.005 mg/L). We are pleased to let our MRCS community know that our water passed all of the required testing with these locations being noted as specific designated drinking water sources:
- Any of the 3 water fountains in the school:

- Water dispensers in portables
- Portable #1 sink (Ms. Brown’s class)
- Portables #2/3 sinks (Music portables)

Dinner & Auction
This is a heads up that there will be an online version of the dinner and auction in March 2021. The details are still taking shape, but it will include an at-home dinner option, an online auction, and other fun experiences to enjoy during the evening of the event. We will keep you posted!
If you already know of an item/service you would like to donate to the MRCS auction, please let Monet Lamphere know at email@example.com or 604.465.4442.
Doing Our Part
At MRCS, we are doing everything we can to provide a safe and healthy educational environment. As COVID cases are on the uptick in BC, please remain vigilant in adhering to the guidelines set out in our health and safety plan.
Access to Friday Chapels
In a typical school year, our Friday chapels are open for all to attend. Since that is not possible this year, we are going to start emailing our current MRCS families the livestream chapel every week.
If you know of grandparents or other family members who would also like to view the chapels, please feel free to forward them the link when you receive it on Friday morning.
Let the Office Know
If your child is going to be late/absent or if s/he will have to leave school during the day — let the office know! Please call 604.465.4442 or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) the office to explain why your child is missing school to have it properly recorded. Students who are leaving during the school day need to go to the front office to sign out before leaving the school.
