June Outdoor Performances
We are excited to announce that there will be two outdoor performance events next month:
- The MRCS Drama Production of Footloose from Thursday, June 10 to Sunday, June 13 at 7:00 PM
- An MRCS Band Concert on Tuesday, June 15 at 1:30 and 7:00 PM
Both of these events are drive-in and require attendees to remain seated in their vehicles for the duration of the performance. We have the capacity to host 50 vehicles that MUST BE REGISTERED. To give everyone the best viewing opportunity, we are asking guests to register larger vehicles in the back row and smaller vehicles in the rows closest to the stage.
MRCS parents will first be given the opportunity to register their vehicles. The registration email will be sent out tomorrow, so be sure to check your inbox!
Bottle Return Fundraising
Want a quick and easy way to raise funds for our new classrooms and gym? Just bring some bottles at your closest Return-It Express depot! With just three drop-offs, we have already raised over $60.
Please share the below steps with your friends and family, so we can all help build a school right here in our own backyard…
Here’s how it works:
- Put all of the containers in a transparent plastic bag (no sorting needed)
- Head to any Return-It Express location (www.return-it.ca/locations/express)
- At the depot, go to the label printing kiosk and enter the school’s phone number: 604-465-4442
- Stick the label on the bag and leave it at the indicated drop off area
- Return-It employees will sort the bottles later and credit the $$ to the school’s account
If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie Carroll at firstname.lastname@example.org or 604.465.4442.
New Parking Restrictions
Please note that there are new parking restrictions new parking restrictions on 204B Street by our school. It is important to abide by these signs and be mindful of our surrounding neighbours.
We recently received a complaint of an MRCS parent vehicle that was parked on the sidewalk and blocked the pathway of an elderly woman using a walker.
Although drop-off and pick-up times can be hectic, please remember to slow down, look around, and be a considerate neighbour.
The pledge dial is filled in more this week than it was last week! Another $12,000 in pledges has been added to bring our pledge total to $124,000!
This is very important because it not only indicates future funding for our new building project, it will also help us get the construction underway. Our lender and construction management firm determine our readiness to start construction by looking at the money we have saved as well as the pledges that we have received.
A pledge is a promise to give a donation. If you have already donated and are planning to donate again next year or further into the future — please let us know! If you haven’t donated towards the building this year, but still plan to — please let us know!
It would make a world of difference if you would indicate your intention to donate by using this pledge form: Make a Pledge
