MRCS Board Update

Re-Register by This Friday

Will your school-aged child(ren) be attending MRCS for the 2021-22 school year? This is the time when you need to let us know!

All current MRCS families are asked to indicate their intentions for next school year. This is how you hold your child(ren)’s spot(s) before registration is opened up to prospective families on February 1.

There are two steps to the re-registration process:

1. Fill out the online form (for your school-aged children): Re-Registration Form »
2.    Pay the $100 re-registration fee by:

Your re-registration is due by Friday, January 22. Any re-registrations after January 22 will be subject to a $200 fee and classroom placement may be at risk.

We would also like your feedback regarding this re-registration process. Please note the last question on the form and let us know what you prefer!

For families in the International Program, your re-registration package was sent out on December 10. If you did not receive it or if you have any questions, please contact Lana Maki at l.maki@mrcs.ca.


Grade 4-7 Duplicate Day!

On Thursday, January 28, Grade 4-7 students are invited to dress up for Duplicate Day! Find one or more friends and come up with matching looks for a day of fun double-vision.


Upcoming Pro-D Day

Please note that Friday, January 29 is a Professional Development Day when no classes are in session.

January 22 – Current family re-registration due

High School Homework Club

Homework Club (for Grades 8-12) is happening weekly in the high school student lounge. Students will be assigned to specific areas according to their learning groups. Homework Club is on a first come, first served basis and will not accept students once all the spots are filled.

New After School Course at MRCS

We are excited to announce a new after-school course at MRCS! This course is designed to prepare ESL and ELL students in Grades 10-12 to excel in the IELTS Academic Exam (the International English Language Testing System is an English proficiency test which helps students meet university admission requirements).

Program Features:

  • Test-taking strategies, practice exams, and personal assessments for improvement
  • 45 hours of instruction from an experienced ESL instructor
  • Practice speaking and listening skills with native English-speaking assistants
  • Strict COVID-19 Health & Safety protocols

This program is open to MRCS students as well as students from outside of our school. Space is very limited (only 8 spots), so please let us know if you are interested.

Days: Monday – Thursday
Time: 3:30 – 5:30 PM
*no class on Family Day, February 15

We are accepting applications until January 28, 2021. Limited seats are available.

Noon-hour Supervisors

Although we are not able to have parent volunteers inside the school building this year, we are in need of noon-hour supervisors out on the school grounds. We are looking for help Monday to Friday from 11:45 AM to 12:45 PM.
