K-7 Christmas Theme Day
The last day of school before Christmas Break (Friday, December 18) is a Christmas Theme Day! Kindergarten to Grade 7 students are invited to dress-up in Christmas-themed clothing. For more info, please watch this video from the Middle School Leadership Team:
Please Slow Down
We have received several complaints from our community neighbours regarding our parent vehicles driving too quickly and not fully stopping at the crosswalks and stop signs. For the streets adjacent to the school, the maximum speed is 30 km/h and vehicles must come to a complete stop at crosswalks and stop signs. Please help us be good neighbours by driving slowly and cautiously on the roads around MRCS.
We also ask that you continue to pace your timing according to the chart below. Less congestion on the surrounding streets is another way we can improve the flow of traffic in our neighbourhood:
Giving December is Happening!
It has almost been a week since we kicked-off Giving December! Any donation received during the month of December, will be matched up to $25,000. We will also be giving away a bundle of student art cards (pictured below) as a thank-you gift for every Giving December donation.
From December 1-6, we received $3,875 in donations that have been matched and result in $7,750 funds raised so far!
These donations are going a long way towards making our new school building a reality. This building project will open up many more opportunities for our current students and the ones that would like to be at our school. This new building is central to expanding the reach and amplifying the impact of God’s work at Maple Ridge Christian School.
If you would like to find out more, please contact Stephanie Carroll at email@example.com or 604.465.4442.
Are you wondering how our latest fundraising drives are going? We celebrate God’s provision and are thankful to all who made these results happen:
- Purdy’s Chocolate Grad Fundraiser: $7043.93 in total orders, resulting in $1760.98 raised!
- Gift Card Program: $3204.72 in total orders, resulting in $459.89 raised!
- Giving December (Dec. 1-6): $3,875 in donations that have been matched, resulting in $7,750 raised so far!
Despite the giver’s best intentions, there are times when a gift is close-but-not-quite or even not-going-to-happen-ever. If you find yourself in either of those situations this Christmas, we have an easy and guilt-free way to re-gift those items!
It just so happens that we have an online auction coming up that is raising money for a really great cause (that will change our current students’ world and will open up more opportunities for the students to come).
If you would like to re-gift unused items in their original packaging or if you have other items/services that you would like to donate to the online auction, please let us know by filling out this form: Online Auction Submission »

Christmas Chapel Video
With the current protocols in place, we cannot perform our annual Christmas Concert this year. Even so, we have been working hard to find a way to share the joy of Christmas with our students and our MRCS community. A special Christmas Chapel video is in the works that will be released for viewing in classrooms and at home on Friday, December 18. We look forward to celebrating Christ’s birth and sharing our celebration beyond the walls of our school!
Access to Friday Chapels
In a typical school year, our Friday chapels are open for all to attend. Since that is not possible this year, we are going to start emailing our current MRCS families the livestream chapel every week.
If you know of grandparents or other family members who would also like to view the chapels, please feel free to forward them the link when you receive it on Friday morning.
Let the Office Know
If your child is going to be late/absent or if s/he will have to leave school during the day — let the office know! Please call 604.465.4442 or email (firstname.lastname@example.org) the office to explain why your child is missing school to have it properly recorded. Students who are leaving during the school day need to go to the front office to sign out before leaving the school.
